I always hate these things I feel like I’m filling out a personals ad.
My name is Denny, I’m 27, a native Ohioan transplanted to South Carolina by way of Texas.I like long walks on the beach…wait…
I am the A/V Specialist at Seacoast Church in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. I like to do creative stuff, no matter what the medium. I’ve developed a love for working with wood, plastics and lighting on the stage but still like to put a pencil to paper and sketch stuff out. I’m always up for a creative challenge!!!
When I was a kid I was always doing something creative, from legos and lincoln logs, to building fake ray guns with boxes and pens I’d pulled apart. You see that a lot in what I do, pieces from here and there to make a cohesive design, to tell a story. I learned to tell stories in high school and in college through theater and radio, and picked up most practical production experience on the fly as I needed it.
Forget conventional. I’m a out of the box idea guy. I start pulling things out of what seems to be an endless creative void until something latches on. I love taking something from concept to completion, while working with the vision of a team to give them something that tells their story and incorporates their passion.
You can find ongoing conversations over at Church Ideas Blog that I am a part of.
I’m a firm believer in trying anything once. In fact, that is what I hang my hat on. I like to take chances, do things I’ve never done before and if it works great, if it doesn’t I’ll either chalk it up to experience or go at it again from another angle. I love feedback and constructive criticism.
I like music, writing, reading, tweeting, working out and God. So shake all that up and you end up with my blog.
Oh yeah…I’m not so much into grammar or spelling, so forgive the blatant problems.
Thanks for reading!
